Summer Review Part B

4TH OF JULY FUN

We can usually always count on Raynel working the 4th of July. This year he was in Lehi and we were able to go and watch the parade from the the fire station.

The 4th is also a fun time at the Day's. Raynel's mom always puts on a good party for the kids. This year consisted of a water balloon fight, huge bubbles, tasty food, and of course fireworks.

 TREK

Raynel and I were asked to be a Ma and Pa this year for our stakes youth conference. We really had so much fun! We were blessed with ten amazing youth as our trek children. For the last five years I have been involved with the young women in our ward and have spent most summers leaving Raynel with the kids while I would go off to Girls Camp and Youth Conference. This was such a great experience for us to go and be apart of this together.

This is all the youth and leaders who went from our ward! We really have the best youth!!
I went  totally old school and used a disposable film camera. I have yet to develop them so I do not have any pictures of our cute trek family to post yet.

TAIT FAMILY REUNION

This is the trip my kids have been talking about since we left the reunion last year. This beautiful place is really in the middle of nowhere. Altamont Utah. The huge Cabin we stayed at has so many fun things to do and there are so many fun cousins to do them with.

When Cael wasn't paint balling, or clay pigeon shooting he spent most of his time out fishing for crawdads.

When Jordan wasn't swimming, she was having fun doing all the fun activities around the cabin.Tie-Dying shirts and making her sail boat for the rain gutter regatta.

I spent three days chasing down this little guy who was chasing down his BFF "Maggot" (Maggie)
The kids are already talking about how fun it will be to go again next year.

24TH OF JULY CARNIVAL
My mom loves to put on a good party.  Last year she did a drive in.

This year she did a carnival.

With Face Painting.

And lots of fun games and treats.

We really have had such a fantastic summer. I am looking forward to this school year of routines and going to bed at a descent hour. But I will be really looking forward to another great summer next year.

Summer Review Part A

With Cael starting school last week and Jordan staring school this week, I can officially say that summer is over. I am more than excited to have a daily routine again, and even more excited to have  fewer hours of blank stares sitting in front of the television.  But looking back through pictures and thinking about all the fun we have had this summer, I am really sad to see it end.

So hear is our summer in review...

The 1st annual School's out Camp out. ( Backyard style)

If you now this Momma, camping in the woods is not for me.  Doing it out in our backyard is perfect!

No wildlife (except for Gus) and I have my very own potty.

Raynel might feel a little differently.

First Lost Tooth (Finally!!!)

This poor kid had to wait until the summer of his first grade year to finally become a man and loose his first tooth. It was a happy day.

The Perfect Summer  Doo

Jordan has really grown up this summer. From long locks to short and sassy.

...oh and don't forget the ear piercing too!

 The Sheriff turned 2!

Stetsons new name is the Sheriff. I don't think there is a need for an explanation.

Swimming, Swimming and More Swimming!

Cael has had the swimming break through this year. For years this kid would be too scared to leave the step at the shallow end of the pool. When he was 3 years old, he was so scared of water that he would scream and hyperventilate if you carried him out into the pool. But that kid is no more! Thanks to a fabulous swimming teacher (the one and only Sabrena Suite-Mangum) and to a wonderful Aunt with a pool. This kid is officially a swimmer!

Jordan too has had a great summer of swimming. She loves jumping off the diving board and loves swimming under the water from the step to wherever I am in the pool.

Stetson loves the water.  He loves jumping off the side of the pool and loves floating around by himself in his cool monkey life jacket.

Our Many Trips to the Fire Station

There is nothing cooler then a dad who is a fireman. So there are many trips to see him... and the fire trucks.

Herriman Beach

We love where we live for so many Reasons. But this beach has become a place that our kids just love to go!

We love it more when cousins come too!

The blogging hibernation is over.

After two years of taking a break from the blogging world, I have decided to wake up from this hibernation and have a try at it again.

I am sad that my last post was introducing Stetson, who is now two. I am sure there have been many fabulous accomplishments and experiences that would be almost impossible to go back and try to update. So for now I will just be happy with a quick update and go forward from here.

Raynel

This hunky fireman is as busy as ever. Working for three fire departments, is just two classes away from his associates degree and has also started is own business. If you are in the need for some amazing custom leather work then this is your guy! Besides being the hardest worker I know, he is also the best husband and dad around. I am reminded everyday how lucky I am that he is mine.

Cael

Cant believe that this little man of ours will be turning eight this year. He is so excited for his baptism and is constantly talking about it. He is already making sure that his family and friends have the date free in December. Cael is such a happy boy and is such a great friend and older brother. He has really found a love for ridding horses and has even saved up his own money to buy himself his own cowboy boots and spurs.  In addition to horses, he has found a love for baseball. His team placed 1st after an undefeated season this last spring.  He is looking forward to going back to school and being a big second grader.

Jordan

This sassy little thing is 5 going on 35. She is constantly shaking her hips, singing a song and almost always has her feet up in the air. Besides having the cutest hair in town she also has the cutest smile and laugh to go with it. Jordan always likes to make a party out of everything. Her and her friends will often plan parties during there play dates and everyone who is at home is expected to come and is expected to have a fabulous time. Jordan is also really good at making up her own games and loves to make everyone play them with her while traveling in the car. Jordan will be starting Kindergarten this year and has not stopped talking about it since her preschool graduation. If anyone is in a hurry to grow up it is Jordan.

Stetson

This boy is one cool dude!  I think cool is the best way to describe this kid. He is like any typical two year old and is always on the go, but he is also really easy going and just goes with the flow. He is always finding ways to entertain himself.  He has great ninja like skills and loves to be in the action, especially when a good wrestle or cowboy shoot out is taking place. He gives great loves and has a gift of taking up the whole space of a king sized bed. There is not a day that goes by that he does not have us all laughing and thinking he is pretty awesome. There is no doubt that this kid is running the show and we are more then happy to sit back and let him do it.

The Mom

As for me I am living the dream of being a stay at home mom. Taking pictures of myself in the car like every other cool person I see. I have taken up running this year and just ran my first 10k a few months ago. Most days I am running around like a crazy person. Not because I am busy, but because I am just that... a crazy person.

INTRODUCING...

Stetson James Day
June 16, 2011
7 lbs 4 Oz. & 19 inches

Stetson, I feel like we waited a long time for you. It took a miscarriage and nine long months of hoping and praying to finally find out that you would be joining our family.  Though we were excited, you quickly reminded me how fun it was to be pregnant in those first few weeks and months.  No, I was not throwing up and sick. But I spent a lot of time sleeping and not feeling very motivated to get things done. For Cael it was such a relief to find out that you were the reason I had become such a waste of skin. The day I showed him your first little picture he quickly called Dad to share the news. "Hey Dad give me a call. I just wanted to let you know that the reason Mom has been so lazy is because she has a baby in her tummy." And for Jordan...well, you know Jordan. She was immediately asking if she could see you and hold you.

Finding out that you were a boy was the happiest day of Cael's life. He had told me from the beginning that you were going to be a boy and that he had big plans for the two of you. I think he was more happy to know that he was finally going to have some back up when it came to dealing with the sister in the family. He was thinking a good tag team was in order.

Once we got past those first few months it was like we were in high speed getting you here. Cael was finishing his last year of preschool. Jordan was discovering more and more how fabulous it is to be a girl and enjoying nail polish and new hair-dos .Dad was going through a captains proses and a lot of changes at work.  And I was looking forward to finally getting my braces off and dreading the fact that I was turning 30 and would soon have to act like an adult.

Before we knew it your big day had arrived.  Jordan and Cael had spent the night at Grandma Days.  And your Dad and I tried to sleep as much as we could before we had to be to the hospital bright and early that morning. As usual your Dad was happy and excited and did all that he could to make sure the nurses were doing there jobs correctly. I think there was only one time he almost jumped in to poke me with a needle and prove that he was the best at finding the perfect place for an IV. The whole morning went smooth and with out a hitch.  And before we knew it it was time for your big entrance.

When your moment came you were quick to let us know that you had a voice! The Doctor and nurses could not stop talking about your great hair and what a looker you were. I was so happy that you were finally here. The whole time the nurses were checking you I was just counting the minutes to when I could finally hold you. Your Dad could not stop smiling and couldn't get enough pictures. We were just so happy that you were here and  that you had made such an easy and wonderful entrance!

It was not long before you had many visitors and was quickly learning how much you were already loved and adored.

I thank Heavenly Father every day that you are here and for the amazing spirit you have brought with you! We love you Stetson!
